What is AEO?

AEO stands for “Authorized Economic Operator”, and an AEO means a company that the Korea Customs Service has officially certified ATC Logistics as an excellent business entity after examining its suitability as such in accordance with the authorization criteria of legal compliance, internal control system, financial solvency and security management.

ATC’s AEO Advantages

The introduction of the Authorized Economic Operator status resulted in Customs making a distinction between two categories of goods flows:

  • goods from certified enterprises, and

  • goods from non-certified enterprises

  • Customs offers specific facilities to certified enterprises.

ATC’s AEO permit benefits from:

  • fewer physical and document inspections

  • priority when selected for an inspection

  • inspections carried out at a specific address when the holder so requests

  • no inspection of criteria inspected earlier when an application for a permit is submitted

ATC’s Security and safety permit or a combined Customs Simplifications and Security and safety permit also benefit from:

  • advance notification of inspections

  • the submission of fewer data in summary declarations

  • recognition of the AEO Security and safety permit by other countries
